About us

This project is a partnership between Omer and Aksel (O&A). We dream of creating taylormade natural and cultural experiences for adventurers. We have a good network of partners across most major cities in India, and can offer an adventure tailormade by Europeans that understands the needs and wants, and also comfort requirements of us Europeans. Yet we also have Omer, with his extended network of contacts within the tourism industry. The local knowledge of Omer and his contacts/employees, make the adventures offered by us an authentic experience of Indian culture, cuisines, nature and more. We feel a great passion for travel, cultural exchange and meeting new people, and would describe ourselves as travel enthusiasts, or life long adventurers.

Our experts

Omer was born into the trade of hospitality, as his father and his grandfather before him were running a Dal lake houseboat. From a young age Omer learned how to be a professional host for tourists from across the world. He started by working with tourism in the area around Dal lake, Srinagar, Kashmir, but has since expanded his business to the Majority of the states within India.

Aksel is a historian/cultural expert with a masters degree in cultural history from the University of Bergen. He also finished a year-long course in tourism and guiding in Norwegian mountains, from a local school in Voss, Norway.

What is this thing even?

Travel agency isn't quite the right term for what we are. Travel coordinator, shoulder to-cry-on or dudes-that-get-me-out-of-trouble, might be a more apt description. We offer a finished travel package, but we also welcome our adventurers' need for spontaneity, and strive to be flexible. Therefore we try our best to create tailor made travel plans and itineraries for anyone who would prefer such a solution.

We are a travel business who employ people with decades of experience within tourism and the travel industry. O&A adventures are driven by a profound passion for travel, culture & history. We also value and respect the nature and cultural landscape which gives India its natural beauty and strive to be as green and environmentally friendly as we can be. So that this Earth can keep being ours and all coming generation’s place to love and make their livelihoods.

Do you pay your partners and staff fairly?

Without the craftsmen, drivers, hotel staff, tour guides and other hard working Indians that we work together with and employ, our livelihood would not exist. We believe everyone deserves to be paid fairly for a job well done.

Do I have to order one of the default travel packages, or can we discuss a custom travel route?

As we ourselves are passionate travellers, or like we prefer calling it here, adventurers, we strive to make everyone's wish for the perfect adventure holiday come true. In our standard packages we offer travel routes designed by experts on what India has to offer both in culture, tours, cuisine, nature, cultural landscapes, hikes, sightseeing, landmarks, you name it. But we can also work with you to design a custom travel itinerary, fitted to your personal needs, wants and desires.

Why do you care so much about travel tourism or "adventurism" as you call it?

We are driven by a profound passion for exploring this world. As Lonely Island puts it in their song YOLO, "you only live once". We want to share our passion for Indian nature and culture with like-minded individuals, who also understand to appreciate India's natural world, Indigenous traditions, captivating history, and the intricate web of ecology. We want to broaden our perspectives, fully immerse ourselves in the untouched magnificence of nature, and gain wisdom through meaningful encounters with diverse cultures. These core principles fundamentally shape us as humans, and O&A Adventures believes wholeheartedly in this message.
